Help shape the future of local councils across Warwickshire

Warwickshire residents, businesses, Town and Parish Councils, voluntary and community groups are being invited to help shape the future of local councils in the county in a public engagement exercise from Thursday 7 August 2025.
Under Government proposals for local government reorganisation, all six councils in Warwickshire will disappear by 1 April 2028. More information can be found on the options for reorganisation and what the changes mean to you in an engagement booklet.
You are invited to share your views in our questionnaire which is available from 7 August to 14 September.
Councillors will use this information to help them to make their final decision. It is being run by Opinion Research Services (ORS) online at www.shapingourcouncils.co.uk and paper versions can be collected from district and borough council offices.
In addition to the public questionnaire, ORS will be conducting focus groups with a randomly selected sample of residents from each council area.
ORS will also be holding focus groups with businesses, voluntary/community groups and Town and Parish Councils, to explain the proposals and gather feedback.
Local stakeholders will also be consulted.
No decisions have been made yet. This is your opportunity to shape the future of local government in Warwickshire. Whether you support the current proposal or have other ideas, your voice matters.
To complete the questionnaire online, visit: https://shapingourcouncils.co.uk/get-involved/
To return paper questionnaires or written responses, send them FREEPOST to: ORS, FREEPOST (SS1018), PO BOX 530, Swansea, SA1 1AF

All four Leaders agree that: “Significant changes are on the horizon for councils across Warwickshire, and we’re inviting our residents to help shape the future. We urge individuals, businesses, Town and Parish Councils and community groups to learn more about the Government’s proposals and share their views on who should deliver the essential services we all depend on.”
Final plans must be submitted to the Government by 28 November 2025. Following this, the Government will consult on the proposed plans before making a final decision in 2026. If approved, the new unitary authorities are expected to be in place by 2028.
